While plenty of high-quality pumps have been created for the purposes of removing liquids from reservoirs within a vehicle, they can fail due to misuse or other malfunction. Take a simple pump, such as the type from a bottle of household soap, thoroughly clean it before using, and keep it nearby. Next time your fluid pump fails, you will be able to continue working. You can even create a variety of these simple pumps for different fluids. Use pumps with long tubes for removing fluids from the radiator, windshield wiper fluid, or even brake fluid reservoirs. These are especially helpful when you do not want brake fluid to spill out over the motor when changing wheel hubs or brake pads.
