The Technician.Academy team was treated to a complete tour of the Parkland College facility. It has four classrooms dedicated to the automotive program along with fifteen separate lifts. There are also three up-to-date alignment bays and a fully integrated chassis dyno.
In a perfect world, everyone would be able to go out to his or her vehicle and make necessary repairs without any input from professional automotive technicians. Unfortunately, thousands of people begin making repairs on their vehicles alone, and often end up causing damage to their vehicles.
Technician.Academy recently had the opportunity to present fuel systems training to the automotive students of West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) in Paducah, Kentucky.
I was reminded of the following article that a friend of mine, Rick Escalambre, wrote several years ago. I think it still holds true today. As you read this, remember some of the numbers have changed, but I believe the overall context is still prevalent today.
